Thunderstorms possible in Myrtle Beach this week. See which days to plan to stay inside

The Myrtle Beach area is expected to receive severe weather, including thunderstorms and isolated tornadoes, beginning Tuesday and during parts of Wednesday and Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.


Multiple areas in South Carolina, including Horry County, have been predicted to receive the most severe thunderstorm of the week on Tuesday, including wind gusts reaching up to 60 mph and the potential for isolated tornadoes.


Wednesday is predicted to be more calm, with thunderstorms and isolated tornadoes potentially hitting the area late at night into Thursday morning.


High pressure will bring dry weather on Thursday night into Friday.


Myrtle Beach will likely receive a total of 1.5 inches of rain collectively by the end of the week.


Temperatures are expected to range from 73 degrees mid-day Tuesday to 54 degrees on Thursday night, according to weather.com.
