Myrtle Beach memorial for Brittanee Drexel is pending. Family will honor her in NY first.

The family of Brittanee Drexel, a Rochester, New York native who went missing at 17-years-old in 2009 from Myrtle Beach, has planned a celebration of life in Drexel’s hometown.

According to her obituary, the event will take place on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 10 a.m. at The Fathers House on 715 Paul Road in Rochester, New York.

Drexel’s celebration of life is open to the public and the obituary asks that attendees consider “memorial contributions in lieu of flowers.”

During a press conference held by The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, May 16, it was confirmed that Drexel’s remains had been found and that Raymond Moody was being charged for her death.

During the conference, Drexel’s mother, Dawn, said that a celebration of life for her daughter would take place both in New York and in Myrtle Beach.

Details for the celebration of life in Myrtle Beach have not yet been set.
